Regular and punctual school attendance is a vital aspect of developing and maintaining a successful educational experience. Regular and punctual attendance promotes a sense of responsibility, ensures educational continuity, facilitates academic growth, and prepares the student for his/her future career.

When a student is absent from school, whether the absence is a partial day or full day, proper documentation should be provided regarding the reason for the absence.

History

South Hancock Elementary was built in 2007 when Hurricane Katrina destroy Gulfview Elementary in Lakeshore and Charles B. Murphy in Pearlington. The two schools were combined to develop South Hancock Elementary. Staff and students move into the new school in October of 2008 after being in temporary classrooms since August of 2005.
